Capabilities > Opportunities and Constraints Studies
EXAMPLES OF OPPORTUNITES AND CONSTRAINTS STUDIES.
The aim of opportunity and constraints studies is to identify a "development footprint" that minimizes the impacts of a proposal on the ecological character of the site, while still permitting the development to proceed. The opportunity and constraints survey identified sites within a particular area that have high, moderate and/or low ecological value. The identification of these sites identifies areas that can be developed without having a significant impact on the flora and fauna communities present within an area. By negating these impacts, the need to prepare a Species Impact Statement is also avoided.
