  • A terrestrial flora and fauna investigation undertaken as part of an ongoing investigation into the Upper Nepean Borefields, Wingecarribee Local Government Areas. Investigation undertaken on behalf of the Department of Commerce.
  • A flora and fauna survey of a proposed semi-rural subdivision, Womboyn, Eden, NSW. Works undertaken on behalf of The Planning Group and Picnic Point Pty Ltd.
  • A flora and fauna investigation undertaken as part of a constraints analysis report for the upgrading of Camden Valley Way, between the Cowpasture Road/Bringelly Road intersection and Narellan Road. Report prepared for the NSW Roads and Traffic Authority.

2006 – ongoing. Occupation of derelict mines by cave dependant/associated microchiropterans and their response to the implementation of safety treatment works, Burraga, New South Wales.

2003 – ongoing. Monitoring of bandicoot populations at North Head, Manly, New South Wales.

2003 - 2005. Establishment and monitoring of nesting boxes for arboreal species (including possums and microchiropterans) as part of the clearing and construction of the Bangor Bypass, Menai, New South Wales.

2001 - 2002. Relocation, habitat creation and monitoring of a locally occurring population of the threatened Cumberland Land Snail, Wattle Grove, Liverpool, New South Wales.

2000 - 2002. Relocation, habitat creation and monitoring of a locally occurring population of the threatened Cumberland Land Snail, Prestons, New South Wales.

1999. Distribution on Long-nosed Bandicoots within urban bushland remnants of the Sutherland Shire Local Government Area. Work completed at the request of Sutherland Shire Council.

1998 - 2003. Biodiversity survey of the native fauna populations within the Western Plains Zoo. Private research being undertaken in association with the Western Plains Zoo, Dubbo.

1998 - 2001. Impacts of a proposed urban development on a locally occurring population of the threatened Squirrel Gliders, Wyong, New South Wales.

1996/1997 Habitat preference and population size of Broad-headed Snakes, Royal National Park, Sydney. Research undertaken on behalf of Dr Ross Goldingay, Southern Cross University.

1996 Biodiversity study of native fauna populations occurring within remnant bushland patches, Liverpool Local Government Area, Sydney.

1996/1997 Impact of feral pests on native populations, Royal National Park, Sydney. Personal research project.

1992/1993 Bio-diversity study of Tenterfield, Walcha/Nundle, Kempsey/Wauchope and Dorrigo Forestry Coupes. Each contract lasted from 2 weeks to several months. Works undertake on behalf of Forests New South Wales.

1989/1990 Impact of native herbivores species on plant regeneration post-fire, Water Catchment Area, Wollongong. Eight months study involving fauna identification, plant establishment and monitoring of seedling development and strike rate (Honours research project).

Employment History:

2002 Principal Ecologist – Hyder Consulting.
Responsibilities included the conducting of ecological surveys and the preparation of flora and fauna reports.

1998 Environmental Officer – Environment Technology Branch of the NSW Roads and Traffic Authority.
Responsibilities included assessing and preparing Review of Environmental Factors, summarising working papers and organising the activities of subconsultants.

1996 Ranger – Royal National Park, South Metropolitan District.
Duties included the overseeing and assistance with track construction and maintenance, production of Review of Environmental Factors (REF), preparation of grant applications and general ranger duties.

1995-1996 Environmental Officer – NSW Roads and Traffic Authority, Sydney Region.
Duties included the overseeing of RTA projects, production of Review of Environmental Factors (REF) and Environmental Management Plans (EMP), preparation of community responses to the M5 East Motorway Environmental Impact Statement and other duties associated with the environmental responsibilities of the Roads and Traffic Authority.

1990-1991 Research Officer – Environmental Science and Services, Brisbane.
Responsibilities included the assessment of habitat use, group size and foraging movements of Yellow-bellied Gliders, in the Tully-Millstream Area, Ravenshoe, Far Northern Queensland. This was a one year monitoring project which involved capture, tagging, radiotracking and mapping of foraging movements.
